soldering wire for circuit boards

Beitrag von wtw » Di Feb 22, 2011 11:17 pm

Which soldering wire should I get?

HS 10 with or without copper?

or

HF 32/34

I want to solder some circuit boards.
What's the difference between the different soldering wires?

Hey,

for a normal circuit board I would recommend a HS10.
With or without copper doesn´t matter, both are possible.
The difference between HS10 and HF32 is that HF32 is halide free and HS10 is halide activated.
HF34 is more for special application.

Hello!

I would like to support the answer from my colleague, I would start using the HS10 solder wire, as it shows the widest process windows for standard soldering applications and is a no clean product. This means the residues are electrical safe and can stay on the PCB in most cases.

Best Regards
